Austin Health treats more patients than any other hospital in the State of Victoria. Austin Health has 840 beds across three campuses and treats approximately  65,000 inpatients and 130,000 outpatients per year.

Austin Health is recognised as a national leader in the delivery of clinical and allied health services in many areas and provides the only statewide service for acute spinal injuries, liver transplant and child psychiatry and is the state referral centre for toxicology. The Victorian Respiratory Support Service (VRSS) is also located at Austin Health.

Austin Health provides the most comprehensive cancer service in the Southern Hemisphere with the largest Positron Emission Tomography (PET) service in Victoria. We have the busiest Thoracic Surgical Unit in Australia and our extensive rehabilitation service leads the field in Victoria.

At Austin Health we are continually refining and improving our services to ensure patients are receiving the very best medical care and access to medical research on new treatments that lead the world. We are internationally renowned for our research in many areas including epilepsy, stroke, heart surgery, cancer, orthopaedics and psychiatry.

Austin Health's Arts Program is unique amongst Australian hospitals promoting a holistic approach to health care.

In the last year many new services have been opened which have enhanced patient care and an extensive redevelopment of the Austin Hospital is underway  which will undoubtedly make us one of the premier health care institutions in Australia.
